TRAVEL TIPS

Monorail Travel

The Las Vegas Monorail stretches from MGM Grand, in the south, to Sahara Avenue Station, to the north, with five stops in between, including the Las Vegas Convention Center. All told, the trains make the 4-mile trip in about 14 minutes. The monorail runs Monday 7 am–midnight; Tuesday–Thursday 7 am–2 am; and Friday–Sunday 7 am–3 am. Fares are $5 for a single-ride ticket, $12 for a one-day pass, $22 for a two-day pass, $28 for a three-day pass, and so forth. Unlimited Ride passes are also available. You can purchase tickets at station customer-service offices (daily 9 am–7 pm) and vending machines or in advance online, where special deals on passes are sometimes offered. Children age five or under ride free.

A number of west-side Strip properties also are connected by free trams that run roughly every 10 minutes. There's one that runs between Excalibur and Mandalay Bay, from 11 am to 10:30 pm, extending until 12:30 am on weekends; one that runs between The Mirage and Treasure Island, from 9 am to 1 am, extending until 3 am on Friday and Saturday; and one that stretches from Monte Carlo through CityCenter to Bellagio, from 8 am to 4 am.
